Micayla Gatto

Micayla has been a member of the Canadian National Team for 3 years. In 2005 and 2006 she raced as a junior and brought home 2 bronze medals for Canada from the World Championships in Livigno, Italy; and Rotorua, New Zealand.
In her first year as an elite woman, Micayla has become the National Champion, as well as the overall champion of the Canada Cup series. An enthusiastic and eager rider, Micayla delves into all aspects of her sport. In the winter months she trains on her road and bmx bikes, and progresses to her cross country, downhill, and dirt jump bikes as the weather permits later in the season. She has recently taken up the position as a guest coach for the Endless Biking riding clinics, and volunteers as a sweeper in the B.C High School XC Race Series in the spring. This being her first year as an Elite downhill racer, Micayla hopes to place well when she competes against the worlds’ top riders in Fort William, Scotland, this September.
When Micayla is not racing or training you will find her at Capilano College working towards her diploma in Graphic Design and Illustration.
